A visit to the doctor's

「高橋さん、こんにちは。今日はどうされましたか？」

"Hello, Mr. Takahashi. What brings you here today?"

「こんにちは、山田先生。今朝起きた時、汗びっしょりで、全身が震えていたんです。吐き気がして、ずきずきと頭が痛んで、少し熱もありました。インフルエンザだと思います。」

"Hello, Doctor Yamada. When I woke up this morning, I was covered in sweat and my whole body was shaking. I felt nauseous, I had a pounding headache and I had a bit of a fever. I think I have the flu."

「そうですか。インフルエンザのような感じがしますね。診察しますので、靴とシャツを脱いで、検査台の上に横になってください。」

"I see. That does sound like the flu. Could you please take off your shoes and shirt, and lie on the examining table, so that I can examine you?"

「分かりました。」

"Of course."

「そうですね、喉が少し炎症を起こしているようです。それと、少し熱もありますね。息を吸って吐いてください。はい、結構です。では、服を着ていいですよ。」

"Yes, your throat looks a little inflamed. And you do have a bit of a temperature. Breathe in and out for me, please. Good. You can get dressed now."

「先生、どこが悪いんですか？」

"So what's wrong with me, Doctor?"

「高橋さんがおっしゃったように、軽症のインフルエンザですね。抗ウイルス薬を処方しますので、一日に三回、五日間服用してください。それから、三日間は家でゆっくりしてたっぷり休養してください。診断書は必要ですか？」

"You were right, Mr. Takahashi. You have a mild case of the flu. I'm going to prescribe you an antiviral medication, which you must take three times a day for five days. I also want you to stay at home for three days and get plenty of rest. Will you need a medical certificate?"

「はい、お願いします。」

"Yes, I will."

「はい、どうぞ。三日後に具合が良くならなければ、またお越しください。」

"There you go. Come back to see me if you don't feel any better in three days."

「ありがとうございました、先生。さようなら。」
「さようなら、高橋さん。」

"Thank you, Doctor. Goodbye."

"Goodbye, Mr. Takahashi."
